This is one of those items that is sort of hard to describe. Partly because you fear
saying too much about too little. After all, it's just a bookend! However, for a book end, it is a complicated piece
because the boat is a separate casting, the man is separate, the spear is separate and, the bookend casting is a separate
casting. All that plus the detail or, the finemanship of the castings, is outstanding. Then there are the two
inscriptions, see how well done they are.
The is excellent item and should be an investment piece.
